HellO people...I m currently in the office now..updating my bloggie! juz realised that I haven been updating for so long. Before I go any further..I juz wanna say a word of thanks to all the people out there whom have been praying for my eyes and showing me with care n concern! =) I am currently still in specs coz my doc says that I am not fully cured yet...so I have to be in specs for another 6 weeks or so...

Anyway I just came back from the collection center a Goldhill...went over with a few of my other colleagues to send the clothes and food we have collected for the tsunami victims. The lobby of the collection center was full with boxes that there was hardly any space for people to walk and in the end, the people in charge actually rejected some of our things coz they really have very limited space.

I really hope that this little deed we are doing will be able to help out a little. I am actually very glad and touched to see how Singaporeans are so willing and spontaneous to donate and help out in time of trouble.

okies..I think I am going blind.... went to see an eye doc at Mt Elizabeth hospital today coz my eyes are supa irritated n I have been blinking non-stop. I actually had to take a number of tests and an x-ray before the doc finally found out wats wrong with my eyes. At the end of the day...I was given 3 different eye drops to apply and I actually have to go back to see her 3 weeks later....plus I am banned from wearing contacts for the next 3 weeks sigh! I really hope that I will get well soon and it doesn't affect my job coz I am starting my new job next week... =(

A Good Story....

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter.
Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter.
He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.
2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.
3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl?
If you had to advise her, what would you have told her? Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above logical answers.

What would you recommend to the Girl to do?

Well, here is what she did....

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.
"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."

Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Most complex problems do have a solution. It is only that we don't attempt to think.

Juz realised that I haven't been blogging for ages and found out that something is wrong with my previous blog skin coz my sheep is actually missing... =) Hence, I decided to change a new one since today is a holiday and I don have to work. Anyway, I am so glad that tomorroe is my last dae at American Express and it marks the end of my temp-ing days coz I finally found a job! Realli thank God for this! =) coz ever since I have been working at Amex, I realised that my eyes are failing coz I have been looking thru' thousands of checks each day making sure that the date is correct, the figures and the words telly, there is a valid acct number and finally a signature. I juz can't understand why some people can be so careless as to send out a check without a singature. Well, although this is the downside of working in a bank however it has indeed been an eye-opening experience for me and some things I realised is that, I will never ever choose to work in banks given a choice and never ever work in places where there are lots of women. Gosh, you can never imagine how bad the office politics can be..the back-stabbings and gossipings. Its really scary to see how fake people can be. =( Well, I really pray that my new working place will be a better environment.

Speaking of new working place...I have finally landed on a job which I really desire.. I will be working at NEC Electronics as an ASIC Engineer and my working place will be at Novena Square. Okie..I am really excited about this job and very happy coz I actually went thru' so many interviews and most of the good companies didn't reply me except those financial planner ones... from HSBC bank and AIA. For thiz job I actually went thru' 2 rounds of interviews and the 2nd round was supa scary coz when I went into the room I actually saw 5 people staring at me and all of them are males...plus, 3 of them are Japanese MDs and I actually had to intro myself and shake hands with them and I almost fainted! hahaz.. but, I kept myself calm and answered the questions that were shot at me...I was quite surprised that they called me up the next day to confirm me and they are actually paying me quite well..hee.. and the most impt thing is that I wont't be working at some ulu factory at Tuas or Jurong Island...=) Anyway juz wanna say a word of thanks to all of u out there who have been giving me your support and consoling me during my jobless daes and listening to my grumbles! Well...here's a list of job interviews I went...

To those people who have been reading my blog faithfully..Just to inform you guys that I am still alive!=) Ya...have been kinda busy last few days coz I am working at American Express at Shenton Way temporary...U knoe la month end then the bank very busy so got to work OT the last few days then no time to update my blog. I am working with the loan department..then got to open letters and sort out thousands of checks everyday..very tiring but I kinda enjoy it coz my collegues over there are really nice...the aunties over there keep giving me food to eat...hee..
Went for the computer test with DBS bank on monday..oh manz it was so tough..there are 2 parts to the test, the first part is an analytical test where I have to answer 35 questions on statistics within 35 mins then the 2nd part was some english test. Although it was multiple choice but itz real difficult bcoz I have 8 choices to 1 qns....supa crazy manz..like taking some exam lydat. I guess I have done my best..well, will leave everything to God le...

Last Friday was my sis's graduation..was held at Singapore Polytechnic.Well..time realli flies, I could still remember clearly that my parents were attending my graduation a few years back and I brought my sis to sch on her 1st day when she's in sec 1..and now I am actually attending her graduation from secondary sch...haiz must realli admit that I am old liaoz! anyway,here are the fotoz..

Shirlene looks as pretty as ever...and sigh I look damn fat! Haven't been doing much exercise since I came back...tink I shall go on diet from tomorrow onwards...I have been eating so much good food recently and I get hungry supa fast..wondering watz exactly wrong wiff me..pple have me telling me thatz bcoz I am still growing..but huh I wish I will grow juz abit taller other then that I am kinda satisfied liao! =P

Went to watch Harold and Kumar with my friend yest..oh manz...thats the worst show I have ever watched! Jess...you pian wo! =( should have watched the cinderella show instead sigh! Met my uni friend..at Isetan Scotts after the show..she's there selling chocolate mooncakes by Godiva..Those chocolate mooncakes are supa ex..few pieces for $85 bucks..if its cheaper I would have bought from her coz she got no business the whole day..but duh..who will be so rich to buy those mooncakez..even the Haagen Dazz ones are cheaper and itz nicer...if anyone of you are interested in buying those chocolate ones...muz go there n buy frm her k..haha..helping her promote!

okies...itz 3.48am nowz n I juz came back from Zouk..well..I m not realli a party kinda person however after much persuasion by my galfriendz..decided to give in...afterall I didn't have to pay to get in as my friend's a member so she signed me in! Yah...was hanging out at the member's area..then I saw Allan Wu..before that I didn't really like him coz I think he like supa attitude on TV....but then he looks quite good in real life eh! As usual...its supa crowded coz its friday and I saw many pretty gals!=)

Today's my 3rd driving lesson..and I finally get to drive on the roads..no more driving round the carparks liaoz! haha..hopefully my advanced theory will pass so that I can book my practical test ..by the way I really feel that some of the qns they asked in the test are totally crap...dunno whether is it my english too lousy or their english too good..

Yah..was lazing around the whole week. Except for the DBS Bank interview which I went on Monday..the rest of the week I have been waiting n waiting for pple to call me up for interviews.Why do they have to take so long to shortlist pple.. think I will just go into the jobdb website and click on a few more jobs...sigh..wondering when will I get a job????

opps..was suppose to post this a few days ago..didnt know it wasn't up until i logged in 2dae! =P

I am watching the live telecast of the closing ceremony of the olympic games..and typing this post at the same time. Somehow as I m watching, alot of memories of Athens just came back to my mind...I sound like someone who has just took part in the Olymipics =P This olympics is rather significant to me as I had the opportunity to visit the place two months before the games actually took place. When I was there, the stadium was still under construction and even roads and trains were not even ready. I could even remembered that the police wanted to confiscate our cameras coz we took pictures of the uncompleted stadium. At that point of time, I was thinking how can they ever complete eveything in time...even my uni classmate who is a greek agreed that it is a impossible project. However, the organizers managed to proof to everyone that nothing is impossible..the olympics went as planned and everything went on well.. I was really amazed! It's definately a lesson to learn..We should all have this never say die attitude!=)

However there is one thing that we should never follow is their attitude towards their work/job. When I went there I didn't get to shop much cozzzz the shops were closed sigh..coz their working hours are...wed,fri,sat half day and then sunday is an offday! I didn't even get to buy a pair of shoes that I really like coz when I went back the shoes alreadi close liao...they have soooo many shoes shops over there and the way they diaplay them are so nice but its a bit pricy compared to milan.

Anyway, Greece is such a nice place to visit..other then Athens..there are also many small islands like Corfu or Santorini that are really beautiful..plus the people there are realli helpful and their kebabs are supa yummy.. I will definately go back one of these days..

Haven't been updating my blog for so long coz I was rather busy the last few days! Anyway, the driving lesson on Thursday was realli fun although my leg was supa tired after the lesson coz the clutch was so hard. I actually drove around the carpark onli coz I am still getting used to the car and learning how to co-ordinate my hands, legs and eyes at the same time!

Met up with my uni clazzmates for lunch on Friday at Marche's....was feeling kinda relieved that I am not the only person who is very "Eng"...in fact most of us who came back haven't found a job. Then after lunch we went to the Comex Exhibition, then I met up with Leanne n Kai for dinner and attended my 1st Homcell meeting. Bought a wireless router and a USB adaptor at Comex...from now on my sis and I won't have to fight over the use of internet and I can even bring my laptop into bathroom and still connected to the internet! =)

Went to watch The Twins Effect II at Lido with my bro kai... was suppose to watch the Stepford wives but then he watched it yesterday sigh! so decided to watch this instead! I thought it is gonna be some crappy show like the Zhang Ziyi one..but in the end I find it quite okay..Met Jessica at Isetan....was so happy to see her coz we used to be so good friendz! Got to meet her one of these days to catch up with her!Anyway I gtg le..coz got to go for my 1st driving lesson tomorrow at 10.30am! feeling kinda nervous coz I am so small and the car seems so big to me, wondering if it will be difficult to control..will update you guys more tomorroe k!

Woke up real early today coz got to attend church service...today's sermon by Rev Jeffery Johnson was really good even though it was kinda short! I managed to stay awake and was attentive throughout the entire sermon although I was really tired due to insufficient sleep...

after church I went home to continue my beauty sleep and then start to 'beautify' my blog again! okie...I think I am kinda addicted to this thing... =)

today's table tennis match was again a disapointment! so close yet so far...

was reading leanne's blog just now where she mentioned about the christmas outreach and the friends we used to have...somehow I really miss those days too..where I still have two of my close gal-friendz with me in church and how this particular group of us will always hang out together. Looking back, my sec school days were the best time of my life just bcoz of them....
Somehow things have changed so much..many of those people have somehow 'disappeared' and are busy with their own commitments. Well,its sad to think abt it and I thank God that I still have my bro kai, david and leanne with me..

Itz 2.45am now and I juz came back not too long ago...was in town with a few of my ex-poly classmates! Its realli nice to meet and catch up with old friendz after being away for almost 2 years...

Was at home the whole afternoon trying to figure out and edit the program to this blog! Trying to put my analytical skills into use since I haven't been studying since 1st of June..and I can feel that my brain is beginning to rust! Initially, I wanted to give up coz was kinda fustrated that I couldn't get the picts posted... glad that I managed to solve this afterall..

Well..speaking of fustrated...I was really sad that Li Jiawei lost to that korean gal! I realli couldnt believe that she actually lost 3 sets in a row after leading 3-1! Its really a waste...since she had tried so hard! I realli hope that she will be able regain her confidence and win the next match to clinch the bronze medal! and yah...the korean gal is damn noisy lor..realli couldn't understand why she have to make so much noise during the game...realli feel like stuffing the ball into her mouth!

Well...guess I will just end here coz got to wake up early for church service tomorrow..will post the picts I took today once I get them from my friend! =)

Hey...I finally got my own blog! Thiz is realli crazy coz I always thought itz realli ridiculous to let the whole world knoe what I am doing...like no privacy lorz..

However after visiting all my friendz' blogs...i realli felt tempted to have my own..Well...dunno how long this will last...actually itz the fun of setting the page up and making it look 'nice' that I am interested in! Alrite...we will see how thingz go.. =)
